Eurobond Market Reporter - London

Our client provides global credit market analysis and intra-day reporting via newswire screens as well as research papers. We seek a reporter to give timely and accurate market talk on rumoured bond issuance. You will also report on launch details of European corporate bonds and then follow through with post-launch deal analysis. This will involve reviewing the issue’s performance going into formal launch as well as investigative and focussed interviewing of contacts to assess performance of issue post-launch, for example, reporting on distribution, reasons behind funding, deal structures, aspects that make deal or its pricing special. You will have a strong network of market contacts and very good writing skills.

NYSE acquires Marco Polo Trading Platform

We have just a read a report that Reuters published yesterday that NYSE Group, owner of the New York Stock Exchange, has bought an equity stake in electronic trading platform Marco Polo Network, which focuses on emerging markets. Under the deal the NYSE will have one seat on Marco Polo's board. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Marco Polo Network, a majority-owned subsidiary of Bermuda-incorporated Marco Polo Group, connects and routes trades to brokers and exchanges in more than 40 emerging markets. This follows on from the June 2006 announcement that NYSE Group and Euronext agree to merge.

MiFID Winners and Losers

An article in The Economist yesterday talked about MiFID with the introduction that Europe is "ill-prepared for a coming upheaval." They say the big winners will be IT consultancies, software providers, investment banks and data providers. However,they emphasise that big investment banks, with the resources to upgrade their technology and compliance, could stand to gain. In comparison middle-market firms may have to scale back their operations or risk losing business to lower-cost competitors. Read the article here

Mark-It Partners acquires MarketXS

PR Newswire reports today that Mark-It has announced it has acquired MarketXS. The press release says the combination of the two firms will provide clients with an enhanced ability to monitor the global financial markets in real-time; to publish and distribute proprietary and public prices and trade information across all asset classes. It will also address the evolving requirements posed by MiFID. This deal comes after last week's announcement that Mark-It has acquired Chasen Enterprises.
